Capabilities

Seven capabilities, one way of working

Chavery works from the problem to the system: understanding what an organisation needs, designing the architecture, and engineering the solution so it can be maintained and extended.

  1. Strategic Technology Consulting

Understand business objectives, operational challenges, requirements, constraints, and technology opportunities before implementation.

    • Establishing the problem and who it affects
    • Separating what is requested from what is needed
    • Weighing technology options against real constraints
  2. Solution Architecture and System Design

Design the system structure, workflows, integrations, data models, access controls, and technical architecture required for complex solutions.

    • Workflow and process mapping
    • Data models and integration design
    • Roles, permissions and access control
  3. Custom Software and SaaS Development

Build purpose-specific web applications, institutional platforms, business systems, and subscription-based software products.

    • Web applications built around a defined workflow
    • Multi-user and multi-organisation platforms
    • Subscription and licensing models for software products
  4. AI-Enabled Systems and Automation

Integrate AI and automation where they provide measurable operational value, with appropriate controls and human oversight.

    • Identifying where automation earns its place, and where it does not
    • Rule-based automation where a written rule is enough
    • Human review points wherever a decision carries consequences
  5. Research and Institutional Technology

Develop technology for research workflows, academic institutions, data management, analytical processes, and research documentation.

    • Research workflows from planning to documentation
    • Structured data capture and validation
    • Supervision, review and approval flows
  6. Digital Transformation

Help organisations replace fragmented manual processes with integrated, maintainable digital systems.

    • Replacing spreadsheets and email chains with a single system
    • Migrating existing records responsibly
    • Introducing change in stages people can absorb
  7. Technology Strategy and Product Engineering

Translate an idea, institutional requirement, or business challenge into a structured product roadmap and implementable technical solution.

    • Product definition and prioritised roadmap
    • Technical feasibility and build-versus-buy reasoning
    • Engineering the first usable version, then the next

These are capabilities, not a record of completed client projects. The product Chavery has built and operates is Chavery Research Companion.

On AI

AI and automation, where they earn their place

AI-enabled components are considered where they provide measurable operational value, and are designed with controls and human oversight around them. Where a written rule does the job better, we use the rule. The controls appropriate to a particular system are agreed for that system.

Industries and use cases

Domains Chavery is set up to serve

These are target domains and solution opportunities, not a customer list. Where Chavery has built something - Chavery Research Companion, for research and academia - the Solutions page says so.

  • 01

    Research and academia

Research planning, data, analysis, supervision and documentation held in disconnected tools, and institutions that need visibility across many projects.

  • 02

    Healthcare and healthcare administration

Administrative workflows and records spread across paper, spreadsheets and separate systems, where access has to be deliberate.

  • 03

    Professional services

Knowledge work delivered through email and shared folders, where client matters, documents and approvals need a dependable structure.

  • 04

    Business operations

Processes that grew by accretion and now depend on a few people and a few spreadsheets.

  • 05

    Institutional workflows

Approvals, allocations and reviews that cross departments and need a clear record of who decided what, and when.

  • 06

    Knowledge-intensive organisations

Organisations whose value is in expertise, and whose expertise is hard to capture, share and build on.
